Summary: Intervening to blunt Covid-19 vaccine misinformation online Description: Intervening to blunt Covid-19 vaccine misinformation online In partnership with Weill Cornell Medicine and the Annenberg Public Policy Center at Penn, Critica, a non-profit organization that strives to counteract misinformation about science and health, is pilot testing and refining a method for intervening to counteract online misinformation about vaccines. We seek graduate or other similarly qualified students who will work as "infodemiologists," using the Critica protocol for counteracting online misinformation based on motivational interviewing and other evidence-based techniques. We will train the successful candidates in this protocol and they will then use it to intervene directly online when misinformation about vaccines is posted. The infodemiologists will be involved in iteratively refining the protocol based on the results of their interventions and may be asked to co-author publications with members of the Critica team.
